Floridral
Floridral is a combination of a probiotic with documented efficacy, Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, and of rehydration solution (ORS) ingredients, unique in the Polish market.
Did you know that the management of the first hours of diarrhoea determines its further course and consequences?
In children, infectious diarrhoea is one of the most common reasons for seeing a doctor. Its common cause is rotaviruses. Sometimes, diarrhoea is accompanied by vomiting.
The risk of diarrhoea increases when:
- The child stays in large groups of people, e.g. in a nursery, kindergarten or hospital.
- The climate and environment change, e.g. during holiday trips to warm countries.
- We take medicines, e.g. antibiotics, which disturb gastrointestinal tract function.
Diarrhoea may be dangerous and its symptoms should not be underestimated.
Diarrhoea leads to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, which may result in life-threatening complications. That is why rehydration, at best with the so-called oral rehydration solutions (ORS), should be started as soon as possible after the onset of diarrhoea. Oral rehydration solutions replenish water, deliver carbohydrates and also replenish electrolytes in the body.
Moreover, diarrhoea may cause destruction of intestinal villi and gastrointestinal tract infection and mycosis. As recommended by paediatricians, administration of only water, fizzy drinks or clear fruit juices should be avoided during oral rehydration, because they may aggravate the symptoms.
CAUTION!!!
Although rehydration with oral rehydration solutions is effective, it is not sufficient. It does not influence the persistence of symptoms. It is worth using an agent that will shorten the duration of the disease and will reduce the number and volume of stools passed. Such an agent is Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, a probiotic with efficacy proven in clinical trials. The LGG strain shortens the duration of infectious diarrhoea by up to 2 days.
What is the best way to help a child effectively fight diarrhoea and return to strength?
ESPGHAN (European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition) recommends administration of an oral rehydration solution (ORS) and a probiotic with an effective action and in an appropriate quantity.

- an oral rehydration solution – which rehydrates and replenishes electrolytes in the body, protecting from the consequences of dehydration.
- a probiotic strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG – which colonises and tightens the gut, preventing penetration of allergens from the gastrointestinal tract lumen to the body, and also accelerates excretion of harmful bacteria and contributes to re-colonisation of the gastrointestinal tract by the beneficial microflora.
About the product:
One portion consists of two sachets: A and B. Sachet A contains 5 billion (5x109) of live cultures of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, sachet B contains ingredients for the preparation of a rehydration solution.
Preparation:
Dissolve the contents of sachet A and sachet B in 200 ml of water and drink immediately after preparation.
The composition of the oral rehydration solution obtained after dissolution of a Floridral portion complies with the recommendations of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN).
